Saudi Arabia has officially declared that Eid el-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as the crescent moon was not sighted on Monday evening.

Haramain, a prominent news medium in the kingdom, confirmed this announcement through a statement on its official handle.

They emphasized that the moon was not spotted in Saudi Arabia, leading to the decision to observe a full 30-day Ramadan this year.

The statement also expressed a hope that people would make the most of the remaining moments of this blessed month by engaging in actions that please Allah.

Additionally, they prayed for acceptance of their fasting, prayers, and good deeds, and for the opportunity to witness many more Ramadan months in good health.

However, Nigerian Muslims are still awaiting the announcement from the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sa’ad Abubakar, which is expected later in the day.

The Sultan had previously urged Muslims across the nation to be vigilant in spotting the new moon that marks the beginning of Shawwal 1445 AH.
