PSC announces training for police constable recruits to begin on August 10. Learn more about the upcoming training program.
Starting from August 10, the Police Service Commission (PSC) will commence training for victorious candidates who participated in the police constable recruitment exercise.
The commencement of the training has been approved by the police recruitment board, according to Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesperson in a statement released on Monday.
Ani requested that candidates who were successful confirm their status and verify the details regarding the training.
The spokesperson for PSC stated that those chosen for the specialist group will start training two months later than their general duty colleagues.
In due course, the announcement of specialist cadre training will be made by Ani.

According to the statement, “The Police Service Commission would like to express gratitude towards all applicants for demonstrating patience and comprehending our efforts in making the process inclusive and widely accepted.”
The commission affirms its commitment to uphold merit and adhere to federal character principles in recruitment for the Nigeria Police Force.
The successful candidates are expected to view their newfound status as a summons to serve the Nigerian nation with commitment, emphasized by the commission’s intention to oversee and ensure their training programs equip them adequately for joining hands in combating our country’s security issues.
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) declined the constable recruitment exercise’s successful candidates’ list due to alleged corruption and irregularities in June.
According to the NPF, upon scrutinizing the PSC portal it was revealed that “a number of individuals falsely claimed to be successful candidates despite not having applied or participated in the recruitment process”.
After the NPF’s comment, the commission requested evidence from the police regarding their claims of corruption.
An allegation was made by the PSC that the police attempted to seize its constitutional authority in recruiting members of law enforcement.
