The Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has condemned Fatima Garu, spouse of Aliyu Garu, who represents Bauchi Federal Constituency for distributing sugarcane sticks to young people purportedly as an empowerment initiative.

Some critics have described the pictures of the event as demeaning, causing negative reactions for the lawmaker’s wife.

State Secretary of PRP in the state, Abdulazeez Haruna, conveyed his dissatisfaction regarding the empowerment chosen by the federal lawmaker’s spouse through a statement.

The statement stated that “the gesture does not meet the anticipated level of representation for the fine individuals inhabiting Bauchi Federal Constituency.”

“We, as a party, believe in genuine representation that transcends tokenism and selective empowerment initiatives.”

The residents of Bauchi Local Government Area/Federal Constituency merit substantial developmental measures that effectively tackle their urgent needs and worries, rather than paltry handouts or superficial gestures.

We are requesting a precise account of the developmental accomplishments that he has delivered to the residents of Bauchi Local Government Area, following his election. Can you disclose how many bills he has proposed and executed for enhancing people’s lives? Additionally, what concrete projects have been launched or favored by him for enriching well-being and livelihoods among the electorate?

Our plea to Hon. Aliyu Garu is to exemplify his dedication in serving the public by actively striving towards practical advantages that surpass superficial gestures and charity handouts.

We urge the constituents of Bauchi Local Government Area/Federal Constituency to demand responsibility from their representative for his deeds or omissions. It’s an appropriate moment to alter the representation that genuinely mirrors our people’s desires and requirements.

We are prepared to offer improved and people-oriented representation to the residents of Bauchi Local Government Area, as well as those throughout Bauchi State.
