Protests in Abuja: Police Deploy 4,200 Officers and EOD Specialists

Due to the impending nationwide protests, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has deployed 4,200 officers throughout Abuja.

To reinforce security measures, the force has stationed experts in explosive ordinance devices (EOD) at strategic points.

On Friday, police spokesperson Josephine Adeh stated that these actions aim to ensure public safety, shield demonstrators from harm and thwart any disturbance caused by illegitimate organizations.

Moreover, Adeh mentioned that coordinated efforts with other security agencies will result in targeted raids on problem areas such as unfinished structures and informal settlements. Stop-and-search operations are also set to take place.
