Learn about the curfew relaxation in another state amid protests, offering more freedom and flexibility to the community.
Due to the recent cessation of unrest in the state, the Jigawa government has eased its previously enforced curfew that was put into place as a result of disturbances caused by nationwide protests.
On Sunday in Dutse, Commissioner for Information Sagir Musa announced that the curfew has been eased in eight local government areas which include: Babura, Birnin Kudu, Dutse, Gumel, Hadejia, Kazaure,Kiyawa,and Roni.
Starting from August 4th, 2024 until further notice, the curfew hours will be modified to take place between 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM.

Furthermore, the government has revoked the curfew in 19 additional local government areas subsequent to evaluating safety conditions and detecting no evidence of agitation during the protests.
Governor Umar Namadi’s message acknowledged the patience and cooperation of the state residents during this time, while also recognizing the professionalism and dedication exhibited by security agencies throughout the protests.
Residents were encouraged by Namadi to persist in prayer for the country’s peace and stability.
Remember that the curfew was first enforced by the governor on Thursday in response to occurrences of vandalism and looting.
The governments of Kano and Yobe states have also implemented comparable measures, leading to the easing of curfew restrictions.
