Protest Plans: Wike Discusses Eagle Square Usage Request

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), affirmed that no official correspondence has been received by him regarding the employment of Eagle Square for a demonstration set to commence on August 1.

During a town hall meeting on Saturday with important members of the FCT community, Wike stressed that protesters should not depend only on social media to contact his office.

He recommended that they utilize the correct channels to submit their request.

This assertion was given prior to the scheduled #EndBadGovernance rally. Wike had previously cautioned against protesting by stating, “The FCT is not open for such demonstrations on the 1st,” and encouraged citizens to abstain from taking part in these gatherings.
