Mr Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has expressed grief over individuals who lost their lives during the recent #Endbadgovernance protests across Nigeria.
Obi conveyed his sincere condolences to the families who experienced tragic losses during the fight; adding that those individuals sacrificed their lives for advocating improved governance in our country.
The ex-Governor of Anambra State shared on his X profile over the weekend that it was crucial to promptly focus efforts towards tackling insecurity, eradicating corruption, easing suffering and minimizing poverty.
Consequently, he urged all leaders to take resolute measures in order to address those crucial matters.
Obi conveyed that he wants to reiterate his heartfelt sympathies for all those who lost their lives, including the security personnel, during the #Endbadgovernance protests which ended yesterday.
While striving for improved governance in our nation, these people made the ultimate sacrifice. My deepest condolences go out to all the families who have experienced loss during this pursuit. We stand with you in mourning while working collaboratively towards advancing our country’s welfare.
May we find the resilience to manage this irreparable sorrow. Our sentiments and petitions go out to those who are injured and healing, both in medical care facilities as well as at home, with hopes for a rapid recuperation. We hold deep gratitude for your sacrifices on behalf of our country’s mission.
I would like to emphasize the importance of leaders contemplating on the distress calls of their people and meeting their rightful needs. As figureheads, we must promptly deal with any underlying concerns that have initiated or escalated these demonstrations.
The pressing issues of insecurity, corruption, hardship and poverty demand urgent attention. It is imperative for leaders to act decisively in tackling these critical challenges without delay.
May the departed find eternal peace, and may those who are wounded regain their health quickly and completely.
