Supporters of Senator Natasha Akpoti stage a protest at the National Assembly, demanding justice amid her ongoing battle against alleged harassment.

On Wednesday, a group of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s supporters gathered at the National Assembly complex.

This occurs as the Senate Ethics Committee, led by Senator Neda Imaseun, prepares to begin its investigation into Senator Natasha Uduaghan’s noncompliance with Senate rules.

As the protesters assembled, tear gas canisters were launched; however, they seemed undeterred as they regrouped behind barricades set up by security agencies.

The protesters claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio was silencing and maligning women, urging President Bola Tinubu to intervene.

They stated that issues of sexual allegations are related to human rights.

Today’s scheduled investigation stems from a unanimous decision to probe Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her heated outburst in the chamber.
