Following a bloody confrontation between Hausa and Fulani settlers on Wednesday, the Ogbese community in Ondo State’s Akure North Local Government Area was in disarray.
The crisis was said to have caused one death, a lot of injuries, and damage to property.
It was learned that the dispute, which had started on Tuesday evening, had intensified by Wednesday morning, when several northerners’ stores were set on fire in the community’s well-known market.
Although the precise cause of the altercation was still unclear when this report was made, it was found that the neighbourhood was tense.

The conflict, according to a community member, was the result of a fight over Cannabis sativa, often known as Indian hemp, between a Hausa man living in the neighbourhood and a Fulani guy who lived in the forest.
He claimed that the Hausa man stored a pack of marijuana in the forest, which the Fulani man reportedly stole from.
The police spokeswoman, Funmilayo Odunlami, said that eight stores were burned down, but she denied that there was an ethnic crisis.
