Professor accused of N1.4 billion fraud by EFCC
In the Federal High Court in Lagos, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, has filed an accusation against Professor Uche Chigozie Edwin for an alleged fraud of N1.4 billion.
Two of Edwin’s businesses were also charged.
The commission made this known in a statement shared on its official Twitter account on Thursday.
In accordance with the statement, Edwin was charged with conspiracy, retention, and conversion of monies on 11 counts.
According to the statement, on March 16, 2023, Judge Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court, sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, heard an accusation of fraud totaling N1.4 billion against one Prof. Uche Chigozie Edwin.
Edwin was charged with conspiracy, retention, and conversion of monies totaling N1,473,367,046.04 on an 11-count charge together with his firms, Visionary Integrated Consulting Limited, NEMAD Associates Limited, and Revamp Global Enterprise.
