Prior to the finding of Nabeeha’s corpse, the bandits conveyed their message to us – Uncle
Sherifdeen Al-Kadriyar, an uncle of the victim who was tragically murdered in the recent kidnapping incident in Abuja, has provided a different account of how the family received news of Nabeeha’s death.
As previously reported by PlatinumPost, Nabeeha, her father, and sisters were abducted in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately, during the rescue operation led by Nabeeha’s uncle, Alhaji Abdulfatai, he was fatally shot by the bandits. Additionally, two of the three injured policemen involved in the exchange of gunfire also lost their lives. Sherifdeen, who has been actively involved in the efforts to secure the release of the captives, revealed that the bandits became enraged when they were informed that only half of the N60 million ransom had been raised.
He explained that despite pleading and negotiating with the bandits, they were only able to gather close to N30 million.
The bandits then instructed them to meet at a specific location to receive a “message” but upon arrival, they discovered a horrifying scene.
Nabeeha and three other victims had been brutally murdered, and they were forced to leave the bodies behind while taking Nabeeha’s corpse with them.
Sherifdeen described the situation as heartless and recounted that the bandits later called to warn that the remaining five siblings would be killed if the increased ransom of N100 million (N20 million each) was not paid by the next deadline on Wednesday.
Despite their efforts, the bandits rejected the N30 million that was offered, leading to further insults and threats. Sherifdeen appealed to both the state and federal government to intervene and rescue the remaining captives to prevent them from suffering the same fate as Nabeeha.
