Owodunni Ibrahim, widely recognized as Primeboy and a close associate of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has denied allegations made by Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, about an alleged altercation between him and the deceased artist.
In a recent online interview, Mohbad’s mother implied that Primeboy had a disagreement with her son before he passed away.
She asserted that Primeboy often expressed frustration about feeling neglected by Mohbad following the singer’s rise to fame.
However, Primeboy has refuted these accusations in a statement released on Saturday and signed by his lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona.
He conveyed his disappointment regarding the claims, emphasizing that despite the challenges of stardom, his bond with Mohbad remained strong.

“In the interview, you claimed that our client frequently argued with the late Mohbad and often voiced concerns about being ignored by him since he became famous. You also mentioned that our client was advised to leave town after Mohbad’s death to avoid suspicion regarding his passing,” according to part of the statement.
Describing the submission as defamation of character, the singer claimed that her actions were intentional.
He mentioned that this had impacted the affection he received from his fans.
The statement added, “Your actions are intended to harm and undermine the integrity of our client, a rising star in the music industry. Your allegations during the interview have severely damaged the admiration and support that our client receives from fans and well-wishers worldwide.”
Primeboy, however, asked Mohbad’s mother to withdraw her statement within seven days.
He further warned that he would pursue legal action if it was not done.
Attempts to contact Mohbad’s mother for a response were unsuccessful; she did not answer calls made to her phone as of Sunday evening. Additionally, a text message sent remained unanswered at the time this report was filed.
In August, Ogunbona presented the case for Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy. He asserted that both Wunmi Aloba and the police needed to clarify new issues in order to paint a clearer picture of what led to the singer’s death.
According to the statement, they asked to be contacted by the counsel in order to clarify some ambiguous remarks related to the altercation that allegedly took place in the singer’s house as claimed by his wife.
The coroner subsequently postponed the proceedings to allow for compliance with the order and for witnesses to be presented in court on the next scheduled date.
Mohbad passed away at 27 years old on September 12, 2023. The circumstances of his death have sparked controversy on social media platforms.
His death also resulted in the arrest of Naira Marley and Balogun Eletu, a controversial socialite from Lagos known as Sam Larry, along with others.
The singer’s body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
