During a press conference in Brussels, Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa emphasized the importance of the Palestinian Authority’s readiness to govern all Palestinian territories, including Gaza.

He stated that establishing a Palestinian state is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Mustafa also highlighted the need for his government to swiftly assist the people in Gaza and prepare for the day when they will have authority over the region.

Currently, the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority controls parts of the West Bank, while Hamas governs Gaza. However, reconciliation talks between the factions have been revived since the Israel-Gaza war last year.

Mustafa expressed the Palestinian government’s commitment to supporting the people in Gaza, integrating them into the Palestinian Authority, and working towards reforming institutions and delivering better services.

He praised Spain, Ireland, and Norway for recognizing the State of Palestine and urged other European countries to follow suit. Mustafa believes that international recognition of the Palestinian state is crucial for maintaining the viability of the two-state solution and fostering hope for peace in the region.
