President Tinubu has removed Jalal Arabi from his position as Chairman of NAHCON, signaling a leadership change in the commission.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) underwent a major shift in leadership at the hands of President Bola Tinubu, who removed Jalal Arabi from his post as Executive Chairman and named Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman as his replacement.

According to the Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Professor Usman’s vast expertise in Islamic studies and Hajj operations was emphasized during the announcement. Holding degrees from distinguished institutions like the University of Madinah and Peshawar University in Pakistan, Professor Usman is an accomplished scholar.

Professor Usman’s practical experience is as impressive as his academic achievements. He served as the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board, overseeing Hajj operations for the largest quota of pilgrims in Nigeria.

Subject to Senate confirmation, Professor Usman’s appointment as the new Chairman of NAHCON has been announced. President Tinubu voiced optimistic expectations for him, highlighting his imperative virtue of integrity coupled with transparency and a resolute commitment towards serving the nation in his newly appointed role.
