President Tinubu, Osinbajo Hold Strategic Meeting in Tanzania
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo meet in Tanzania for a strategic discussion. Insights on their agenda remain under wraps.
On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo convened for a significant meeting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The meeting occurred alongside the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit, with President Tinubu representing Nigeria.
The Tanzanian government, in partnership with the African Development Bank Group and the World Bank, is hosting a summit dedicated to advancing “Mission 300,” an ambitious plan designed to provide electricity access to 300 million Africans by 2030.
The discussions focus on energy access in underserved regions, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and investment from the private sector.
The meeting between Tinubu and Osinbajo carries political importance due to their shared history.
Despite once being a close ally of Tinubu, Osinbajo ran against him in the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary. Tinubu emerged victorious in the primary with 1,271 votes, defeating Osinbajo as well as Rotimi Amaechi and other contenders.
