Borno State awaits President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s arrival as he departs Abuja to express condolences and evaluate the aftermath of Maiduguri’s recent catastrophic floods.
Earlier visits to assess the situation on ground were made by Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, with his visit following suit.

Atiku Abubakar contributed greatly during his visit by donating N100 million towards the aid of victims affected by the catastrophic flooding. In Maiduguri, over one million people have been displaced as a result of Alu Dam’s breach which led to these floods.
President Tinubu’s recent journey follows closely on the heels of his official trips to China and the UK, highlighting his dedication towards tackling pressing humanitarian issues in Borno State.
