The Traditional Council of Enugwu-Agidi in Anambra State, under the leadership of Igwe Micheal Chidozie Okeke, has raised concerns regarding the alleged operation of a private militia by the President General of the community, Chuekwuebuka Onuorah.
In order to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order, the Council has urged Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, to step in and address the situation.
During a visit to the Anambra State Government House, representatives of the traditional ruler, led by Chief Ifeanyi Ndulue, the Personal Secretary, highlighted the deteriorating security situation in the town.

Ndulue explained, “We are here to bring to the attention of the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Matters some disturbing incidents in our community.
Recently, there have been reports of the President General arming individuals in our village with security uniforms and a security van, contrary to state regulations. This unauthorized militia was created by him for his personal security.”
He continued, “Despite directives from the state government to disarm and disband this militia, the President General has failed to comply.
Additionally, there have been reports of masked policemen raiding the residence of the Traditional Prime Minister, Dr Osita Anameze, allegedly based on a petition filed by the President General.”
Ndulue emphasized, “The actions of the President General have contributed to the insecurity in Enugwu-Agidi, causing distress to the residents.” The meeting with the commissioner was described as productive.
