In the face of criticism following President Bola Tinubu’s collapse at Eagles Square in Abuja, the Presidency has stood up for him.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, emphasised that his principal is a regular person and not a superhero.
Onanuga recalled a time when both former President Barack Obama and US President Joe Biden slid.
The presidential assistant stated on X that Nigerians shouldn’t let Tinubu’s gaffe detract from the significance of the Democracy Day celebration.
“President Tinubu is not a Superman,” the author stated. Like us, he is a human. Over the past three years, President Biden has made a number of mistakes. While in office, even the younger Barack Obama made mistakes.

At Eagles Square, the location of the 2024 Democracy Day event, Tinubu slipped on Wednesday.
As Tinubu got onto the procession car, he slid.
Shortly after reaching the location, he had come up to the car.
