Presidency announces list of companies and routes for 50% transport reduction
The Federal Government’s attempt to reduce Nigerians’ Yuletide transport expenses includes a list of enterprises interested, according to Bayo Onanuga, Special Advisor to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy.
On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that interstate road travellers will not have to pay transit fares throughout the Christmas and New Year vacations.

According to Tinubu, during Yuletide, the federal government will cover 50% of the cost of interstate road travel nationwide.
The President announced that from December 21, 2023 to January 4, 2024, train travel will be free across the nation.
In a post on his X account on Thursday, Onanuga listed five transportation companies that will collaborate with the FG to implement the programme.
He included GIG (God is Good), Chisco Transport, God Bless Ezenwata, Young Shall Grow, and Area Motor as some of the transportation companies.
“Participating companies in the FG’s plan to reduce the transport burden of 5 million Nigerians who are travelling,” he said.
