The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IREV) should not surprise voters in Imo State, according to Chidi Odinkalu, a former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
The Imo native Odinkalu said in a post on his X account on Friday that he had discovered the supervisors in charge of every local government had removed the passwords used to send election results.
He said, “#IMODecides2023” Update: I recently learned from worried coworkers that the password that was sent to LGA Supervisors in Imo yesterday to transmit results to #IREV for use by APO1s 2mrw has been removed without cause. There are no new passwords available. Await an IREV “malfunction” tomorrow.

Athan Achonu of the Labour Party, Sam Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party, and incumbent governor Hope Uzodimma of the ruling All Progressives Congress are the main competitors in Saturday’s governorship election in Imo.
OBASANJONEWS24 notes that INEC did not provide IREV with the results of the presidential election on February 25, as promised.
While the electoral commission attributed its inability to send the results to technical difficulties, many Nigerians, including opposition parties, thought it was a premeditated plot to rig the results in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress presidential candidate.
