The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command, said that one of its employees, Mustapha, who worked at a point-of-sale (POS), had been arrested because he was suspected of doing cash transactions for bandits.
In a statement released on Monday, Muhammad Bello Muazu, the state commandant, said that the criminal was caught while making the transaction in the Birnin Tsaba community of the Zurmi LGA in the state.
He said that the agents had found two POS machines and that the suspect had said that a leader of the gang had bought them for him.

According to the suspect, he only uses the POS system to conduct business on behalf of his client bandits.

According to him, bandits send someone directly to the suspect to collect the money to buy anything they want for them when they want to buy drugs, gasoline, or food.
“According to our observations, this will change how bandits use rural POS operators to do transactions.” The armed criminals are nearer the rural POS operators, he said.
