A POS operator in Ogun State has been killed by cultists, sparking fears of rising crime in the area.

Suspected cultists in Ogun have reportedly killed Fatai Kehinde, also known as Faithy. The 48-year-old victim was a POS operator and the son of the Baale of Kuto Community.

On Friday, the victim was pursued from his shop at Kuto Market to beneath a bridge by unknown attackers and eventually met with death.

Obasanjonews.com has obtained information that the murder took place just four days after a barber was killed at Isale Oja Kuto.

According to a community insider interviewed by Obasanjonews.com, the murder occurred at approximately 11 pm last night.

The victim is known as Faithy and happens to be the son of Kuto’s Baale. He was concluding business for the day whilst operating his POS shop when he met his untimely demise at the hands of assailants who pulled up in their vehicle.

It was rumored that one individual had impersonated a patron requesting to withdraw funds, when suddenly three additional males donning masks emerged and fired upon their intended victim.

The shot reportedly failed to penetrate him, and as he attempted to flee on foot, his attackers pursued and eventually caught up with him under the Kuto Bridge where they mercilessly killed him.

According to the source, there is a possibility that the group of attackers responsible for Faithy’s death are also those who killed a barber in Isale Oja Kuto four days ago.

This assumption was made due to information gathered indicating that both incidents involved the use of an identical jeep vehicle by the assailants.

Reportedly, Faithy’s burial took place at 2 pm on Saturday.

The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, acknowledged the incidents and assured that the command is making efforts to capture those responsible for the murders.
