Port Harcourt man receives 16-year prison sentence for sexually abusing minor

Charles Ogagbe, a man hailing from Delta State, has been handed a 16-year prison sentence by a Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt.

The conviction stems from his heinous act of defiling a 15-year-old girl in the year 2022, within the jurisdiction of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State.

In her ruling, Chief Magistrate Rita Oguguo referred to the Child Rights Act and concluded that the prosecution had successfully established the case of defilement against Ogagbe.

As a result, he was sentenced to 16 years behind bars, with no possibility of paying a fine to secure his release.
