Politicians who are merely complicit in banditry, according to the head of Kaduna CAN
The Christian Association of Nigeria’s (CAN) Kaduna State Chairman, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, has attributed the surge in banditry to the absence of national cohesion.
Speaking at a one-day roundtable on religion and politics on Friday in Kaduna, the priest charged politicians with sowing hatred into the minds of peace-loving people in order to cause division in society.
“I remembered clearly that things had not always been this way. We must restore our Kaduna State, where everyone looks out for one another regardless of differences, he remarked.
The CAN head urged the state’s residents to spread love and peace.
“We need to stop acting like we are not human beings toward one another. Because what unites us is greater than what divides us, we should teach our children to love one another and all of humanity, he said.
He urged Governor Uba Sani to step up his efforts to see that the state’s peace and unity were restored.
