Daniel Bwala criticized Peter Obi for the meeting between ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and First Lady Remi Tinubu. Bwala mentioned that the photograph of Tinubu’s wife with Obasanjo would cause Obi to have sleepless nights.

This incident occurred after Obasanjo paid Sallah homage to Remi Tinubu. Despite being from different political affiliations, Obasanjo and President Bola Tinubu are both from the Southwest.

During the 2023 presidential election, Obasanjo supported Obi, even though Tinubu and some Afenifere leaders sought his support. Bwala also stated that some pentecostal bishops have distanced themselves from Obi.

In a post on X, Bwala mentioned that the picture would trouble Peter Obi and that prominent Pentecostal Bishops have abandoned him due to his ‘take back your country hate speech’. Bwala also predicted that Pat Utomi would soon distance himself from Obi as well.
