Political Shake-Up: Edo’s Obaseki Steps Down from PDP
Benjamin Obaseki, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oredo Local Government of Edo State, has officially resigned from the party. In his resignation letter, dated June 12, 2024, Obaseki addressed the local government chairman of the party.
Prior to his resignation, he held a position within the Oredo Local Government chapter of the party and was a member of Ward 10. Obaseki expressed his gratitude for being a part of the party and acknowledged the successes they achieved together.
However, he stated that he regretfully made the decision to resign due to the party’s leadership losing touch with its members and becoming indifferent to his concerns.
Obaseki also expressed his lack of faith in the party’s future with the current governor as a leader, citing internal conflicts that could potentially lead to the party’s downfall. He concluded by emphasizing his desire to distance himself from the party and avoid being negatively affected by its internal struggles.
