The Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has urged political parties to reconsider the prices of expression of interest and nomination forms.
Yusuf Dantalle, the Chairman of IPAC, emphasized this during INEC’s second regular quarterly consultative meeting with political parties on Monday.
He criticized the prevalence of bitter, divisive, and aggressive politics, warning that such behavior could harm the country’s democracy.
Dantalle stressed the importance of politicians upholding democratic values, ethics, and principles, while avoiding provocative statements and actions that could disrupt the constitutional government.

He also highlighted the need to reassess the high costs of expression of interest and nomination fees imposed by certain political parties, despite these being internal matters.
IPAC is committed to engaging with party leaders on this issue and others to prevent candidate imposition and enhance internal democracy in Nigeria’s quest for improvement.
