Police tell MBA they have no right to question the N6,000 CMRIS certificate, asserting their authority in the matter. Full details inside.
The Public Relations Officer of the Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, emphasized the authority of the police to take necessary measures to combat crimes in Nigeria, similar to practices in other countries.
The NBA Section on Public Interest had given a deadline to Egbetokun regarding the CMRIS certificate directive, questioning the legal basis for the police’s issuance of such certificates.
In response, Adejobi dismissed the claims as baseless, asserting that the police have been issuing CMR for years and have the right to implement strategies to address criminal activities.
The statement highlighted that no agency can challenge the police’s initiatives, suggesting cooperation and collaboration to enhance security measures in the country.
