He mentioned that the Force was aiming for an annual recruitment target of 30,000, in accordance with President Bola Tinubu’s approval.

During the Passing Out Parade at the Police Training School in Bauchi on Thursday, Egbetokun stated that the newly trained personnel would enhance the capacity of the Nigeria police. He mentioned that they had been assigned to their home states for community policing efforts.

The Inspector General, represented by Auwal Muhammad, the Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State Police Command, urged the 10,000 newly appointed constables to maintain professionalism and demonstrate fairness and friendliness while performing their duties.

The Inspector General stated that the graduation ceremony was occurring at four premier colleges and twelve Police Training Schools across the country.

He stated, “The exercise represents the final phase of an intensive six-month training program that has challenged the recruits both physically and intellectually.”

Today’s Passing-Out Parade marks a significant transition for these individuals, as they officially begin their careers as professional police officers, moving beyond their civilian status and committing to lives of service and duty.

Egbetokun asserted that during their training, the constables were equipped with the essential orientation needed to tackle the country’s complex security challenges effectively while upholding legal principles.

The Inspector General stated that their comprehensive and research-based curriculum has provided trainees with essential knowledge of policing ethics, norms, practices, and modern law enforcement principles.
