The Anambra State Police Command successfully thwarted an assault by armed individuals near the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli, in Ihiala local government area.
The gunmen had caused panic over two nights, prompting residents to flee the area.
Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reported that the criminals fired shots in Uli community, close to the university campus.

Ikenga mentioned that law enforcement officers are pursuing the culprits, with additional personnel and resources deployed to enhance security in the university vicinity.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, and peace has been restored in the region.
The Command remains steadfast in upholding law and order, ensuring the safety of the community and the state as a whole.
