Police Retrieve Firearms from Ritualists, Cultists, and Kidnappers

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended an individual involved in ritualistic activities, along with the evidence.

The suspect, identified as Favour Eze, a 24-year-old male from Amasiri Village in Afikpo LGA, Ebonyi State, was found in possession of a locally made pistol and illegal drugs, suspected to be Loud, which were concealed in a bag of clothes.

The arrest took place during a stop-and-search operation conducted by the Dragon Tactical Patrol Teams on the Ogwashi-Uku/Kwale Road.

The suspect was traveling in a red commercial Toyota Sienna space van, transporting passengers from Asaba to Warri. Upon searching the vehicle and its occupants, the exhibits were discovered. Additionally, a special team led by ASP Julius Robinson, acting on intelligence, apprehended a 28-year-old member of the Eiye Confraternity in Oghara town.

This led to the arrest of another suspect, aged 46, at a hotel in Koko Junction, Oghara, where an automatic pump-action gun was seized. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 32-year-old suspect in Sapele, Delta State, where a new AK-47 rifle and an empty magazine were recovered. These suspects are believed to be involved in a series of kidnappings in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and surrounding areas.

The suspects are currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing. The command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, has confirmed the progress made in the case.
