Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, has been charged with more than six charges after his recent detention, the police revealed on Saturday.
The artist was seen in viral videos on Tuesday fighting with several police officers who had been sent to the recreation centre he operates in Ogun State.
Details of the case against Portable were revealed in a series of tweets by the Force’s public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.
Adejobi made the admission in response to a tweet accusing the police of refusing to detain or question Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, because they believed his remarks to be of an ethnic nature.

When I discussed MC’s case, he tweeted, “I am sure you are quite alert, but portable has more than 6 count charges to attend to, aside from resisting arrest and hurting a police personnel.”
“He will be prosecuted with assault in court for assaulting a man in Otta who had sent a petition to CP Ogun. There are several unresolved incidents of attacks and assaults on people, and he will be looked at because of the complaints made against him.
“Because there is no feeling in law, enable him to appear in court and give the judge a chance to hear the accusations made against him. He is not immune under the Constitution.
As I’ve already discussed MC’s case, I’m confident that you are wide awake, but in addition to resisting arrest and hurting a police officer, portable also faces more than six more accusations. For assaulting a man in Otta who had sent a petition to CP Ogun, he will face legal charges.
After giving Portable a 72-hour deadline to accept a police invitation, the Ogun State police authorities confirmed his arrest on Friday.
