Police PRO: Edo policemen who ran over a man while he was in handcuffs

CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the public relations officer for the Nigerian Police Force, has responded to a viral video that shows police officers in Edo State handcuffing an unidentified guy and running a car over him.

In the early hours of Friday, a distressing video showing a man lying on the road in a cuffed state while wearing a shredded white singlet went viral on Twitter. Bystanders were trying to stop police officers in a Sienna bus from running over the victim.

Adejobi, who called the event “unpoliced and unbelievable,” commented on the latest developments and stated SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the Edo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), has named the officers responsible.

He added that he has spoken with the Edo Commissioner of Police to take immediate action.

It’s not cops. A typical human being cannot likely accomplish this. to use an automobile to run over a man? This is incredible. I’ve spoken to the CP Edo directly about this. We must act quickly to resolve this issue. As a person, I find it unusual,” Adejobi tweeted on Friday.

Later, he tweeted: “Speaking to issues is not usually the top priority. It is the deed done. PPRO Edo, Chidi, has taken action in this regard. He has actually named the men. We will continue to comment as soon as possible.
