SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the state’s police public relations officer (PPRO), told journalists that the command had been pursuing all of the criminals involved and that while some were still at large, four important suspects had been taken into custody.

Onovwakpoyeya also revealed that four further criminals had been detained for being part of a group that preyed on unsuspecting members of the public.

Two firearms built in the area were found.

The police assured the citizens of Ebonyi that the accused would be apprehended and brought before the law, adding that efforts were still being made to catch other suspects who were still on the run.
