Initial inquiries disclosed that Nweke Chukwuemeka, who hails from Umuagu-Ozalla in the Nkanu West Local Government Area, was cohabiting on the premises with the kin of the sufferer.

Before committing the heinous act, he tried to attack other neighbors and eventually entered the child’s apartment.

Chukwuemeka made a chilling admission of guilt, stating that his actions were influenced by methamphetamine, Indian hemp and the alcoholic beverage known as Action Bitters.

In addition, he admitted that he belonged to the Vikings Confraternity and disclosed his participation in a cult clash that occurred in Jos, Plateau State in 2022. According to him, he purportedly took the life of an opposing group member during said altercation.

The crime has been labeled by CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, the Commissioner of Police, as barbaric and beyond imagination.
