Two AK-47s and one LAR weapon, as well as two cars, including the victim’s, were found.
On Sunday, members of the Nigeria Police Force saved Reverend Nicodemus Ude of the Nigeria Reformed Church in Edufu-Egbu, Ishieke of Ebonyi Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
The priest was kidnapped at first, but his captors finally let him go after his assistant, who was with him at the time, sent out a distress call asking people to block the road the kidnappers planned to use to leave the area with their target.
But when Faleye Olaleye, the Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, heard that the preacher had been taken, he sent his tactical teams and the divisional police officer of Ebonyi Division to condone and block the marked-out areas.
The robbers were then caught along Ndofia, Ishieke, and Edupfu Egbu, Ishieke, where they left the victim and ran away while trading gunfire with the police to clear the way for their escape.
Unfortunately, the cops had better weapons and were able to take them down. One of them was killed, and two main suspects were caught.
