In spite of pleas from a number of individuals for certain people to be interrogated and the results of Mohbad’s autopsy to be made public, Hundeyin emphasised that the police will adhere to established norms.

“This is not a media trial. The proper questions will be posed and addressed in front of the appropriate parties at the appropriate time, he said.

“Nobody will force our hands. Though there is zero tolerance for shoddy work, rest assured that every single homicide investigation protocol is being followed.

More demonstrations
Residents of Abuja, meanwhile, gathered at the Unity Fountain on Friday for a candlelight march in memory of the late musician.

A day after Lagosians organised a comparable event, the demonstrators gathered in the nation’s capital for the candlelight parade and performance to voice their demands for justice.

At the rally, which got underway at 7 o’clock, several of them carried placards bearing various messages. The participants, most of whom were wearing white tops, danced to Mohbad’s music. Nollywood celebrity Tonko Dikeh attended the occasion.

Fans, especially young people, have already protested across the nation and abroad to seek justice for the Peace crooner.

There were demonstrations in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, with locals going to the streets. Due to charges of bullying and harassment, they screamed against employees of Mohbad’s old record company, Marlian Music.

Similar events occurred in Taraba, where locals lit candles to honour the 27-year-old.

In New York, a big billboard featured Mohbad’s pictures as requests for an investigation into the circumstances of his murder kept gaining momentum outside of Nigeria.

“Autopsy Results Pending”
A few days after the musician was laid to rest, police retrieved his remains from the gravesite in the Ikorodu neighbourhood of Lagos State, prompting the gathering and protests.

Although an autopsy has already been performed, Lagos State Police Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin stated the results are still pending.
