Police intervention causes uproar among Shiite members in Kaduna
In Kaduna on Friday, chaos erupted as the police intervened to disperse a demonstration organized by the banned Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).
Prior to the arrival of the police, the IMN members had gathered near the Katsina roundabout along Ahmadu Bello Way.
The police took action to prevent any potential disruption of law and order.
The procession caused panic and fear among the residents, especially those who owned shops along Ahmadu Bello Way.
Many shop owners decided to close their businesses out of concern for their safety.

The police stated that the IMN had been outlawed by the Federal Government, making the gathering and demonstration illegal.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, revealed that the IMN members had armed themselves with dangerous weapons and had attacked innocent residents during the procession.
The police attempted to disperse the group, but were met with resistance and some officers sustained injuries.
Several individuals in possession of dangerous weapons were apprehended and will face charges once the investigation is complete.
