A police inspector allegedly killed a man after an argument over a N200 bribe. Read about the incident and the investigation into the officer’s actions.

In a surprising development, a police inspector from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), 41 Division in Damaturu, Yobe State, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a suspected drug dealer to death over an insignificant N200 bribe.

The incident took place in the CMC Area of Zango, Damaturu, where Inspector Mohammed Bulama allegedly got into a violent clash with Abdulmalik Pompomari, who was later pronounced dead.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the altercation rapidly intensified, culminating in the tragic event that took place on Sunday around 5:05 PM.

According to a source, Inspector Mohammed Bulama requested N200 from Abdulmalik Dauda Galadima in the CMC Area of Zango Damaturu.

“When Abdulmalik refused, Inspector Bulama attacked him with a knife, inflicting fatal cuts to his neck and chest.”

Confirming the incident, state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Dungus Abdulkarim announced that Commissioner of Police CP Garba Ahmed has ordered an investigation into the homicide.

The PPRO stated that the two individuals had been engaged in a heated argument over a transaction in the Zango area.

The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which Bulama stabbed Dauda in the chest. In addition, Bulama suffered head injuries.

The suspect was quickly apprehended at the ‘C’ Division Police Headquarters, where he had sought refuge.

“The State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has begun its investigation, and Bulama (the suspect) is currently in custody awaiting internal disciplinary action and prosecution,” he stated.
