Usman Yahaya Muhammad, a resident of Kinboku-Kudu Village in the Mokwa Local Government, has been detained by the Niger State Police Command on suspicion of killing a motorcyclist nearby.

During a parade of suspects in Minna, the state’s public relations officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect had been detained for culpable homicide.

Abiodun outlined how the culprit departed the area with the motorbike after killing his victim and leaving the body behind.

Mohammed admitted to the crime in an interview, saying that he rode the victim’s motorbike to the town of Eppa. However, he killed the rider before getting there.

I cannot answer why I killed him, he said simply when questioned about the murder’s motive. I had a reason for doing it. After I had finished killing him, I went to the local vigilante leader and told him what had happened. He then informed the police, which resulted in my imprisonment.

“I twice slashed the Okada rider’s neck with a machete, causing him to fall. I then drove off with the motorbike.

He said, “No, I want to die the way I killed,” when asked if he desired to suffer the same fate as what he inflicted on his victim. I desire to live.
