Police in Jigawa arrest 14 alleged rustlers, drug traffickers, and other people

According to the Jigawa State Police Command, 14 alleged drug traffickers, vandals, and animal rustlers were detained.

The arrest was confirmed by the command’s spokesman, DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam, in a statement provided to OBASANJO NEWS24.

He said that numerous local governments around the state were targets of a different raid that resulted in the arrest of the accused.

According to him, the raids are a part of the command’s efforts to apprehend criminals who have been terrorising the state’s tranquil environment.

He claims that on January 10, 2023, at around 1200 hours, the patrol team from the Jahun Police station, while on patrol along Gujungu Road, apprehended four persons carrying animals that were very likely stolen.

Additionally, on April 10, 2023, at around 1700 hours, police officers from the M/Qatari Police station carried out a raid at the Yankanwa black spot in Maigatari LGA, where they detained four suspects with 53 tabs of Exol and two wraps of what they believed to be Indian hemp.

Other arrests, according to him, have involved motorbike thieves and electrical wires in the Dutse and Gumel local administrations, respectively.

According to DSP. Shiisu, the suspects have been brought to court for prosecution after confessing to the offences.

Therefore, he urged the populace to assist security services by sharing information that could result in the state’s offenders being apprehended.
