Police in Edo provides an update on the planned cultist attack and issues grim warning
Mohammed Dankwara, the commissioner of police in Edo, has issued a warning to members of cult organizations who want to carry out assaults in Benin and disturb the calm that the state’s residents enjoy.
The State Command Spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said in a statement on Sunday that the CP had received intelligence information of threats by members of a hidden cult to recommence hostilities in the Ekosodin axis of Benin.
The statement adds, “The Edo State Police Command’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dankwara, has issued a warning that the Command would deal harshly with any individual or organization that poses a threat to the state’s peace, safety, or security or tries to undermine the Command’s authority.
Following intelligence indications that certain miscreants and secret cult boys are preparing and threatening to cause mayhem in Ekosodin Community and environs of Benin, Edo State, the CP issued this warning on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the Edo State Police Command Headquarters, Benin City.
He continued, “In the meantime, the CP has called on parents and guardians to particularly appeal to their children and wards to abstain from engaging in acts that would bring them into conflict with the law enforcement institutions as the command will not hesitate to enforce the law, no matter whose Ox is gored.
