Police Have Launched An Investigation Into the Kidnapping and Murder of Imo LGA Boss
The leadership is aware of the “injust and indecent video that has gone viral on social media,” the PPRO claimed.
The kidnapping and murder of the sole administrator of the Ideato North Local Government Area (LGA), which was extensively reported online, have been the subject of a “technical investigation,” Imo State police said on Monday.
According to ASP Henry Okoye, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the command is aware of the “injust and profane video that has gone viral on social media.”
According to Okoye, the abducted sole administrator of Ideato North LGA is shown in the video bending down with his wrists bound and being forced to do an “inhuman deed.”

He claimed that after this, members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed auxiliary, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), killed him.
“The command wishes to inform the good people of the state that, following a high-powered investigation team inaugurated by the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, psc (+), and having since begun technical investigation on the date of the abduction and being on the trail of the hoodlums, where tremendous progress was being made before the emergence of the obscene video, we are already on top of the situation,” the statement reads.
The tactical teams of the command, however, remain persistent in their attempts to apprehend and identify the perpetrators of this heinous act with the sole purpose of exposing them to the full force of the law.
While the police and other security agencies are working assiduously and adequate security measures have been put in place to prevent future occurrences, the Command is using this medium to urge the good people of Ideato North Community and the general public to maintain calm and go about their lawful businesses.
The statement advises “all and everyone” to phone the Command’s emergency numbers at 08034773600 or 08098880197 in order to report any suspicious activity or person(s) they notice in their neighbourhood or to aid the Police with reliable information.
