A 22-year-old man has been detained for reportedly fatally stabbing his mother, who was 50 years old, in a tragic occurrence that has shocked the residents of Kano State.
Ibrahim Musa was caught in a criminal hideaway in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area on Friday as a result of a tip from concerned residents.
On May 4th, 2023, at around 10 p.m., a stabbing took place at Rimin Kebbe Quarters in Nassarawa Local Government Area. It was claimed that Musa had admitted both the crime and his involvement in the trafficking of illegal drugs.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Gumel, confirmed the arrest and offered his gratitude to everyone who provided information that helped result in the suspect’s capture. Additionally, he praised the police tactical teams for making sure the offender was apprehended.
When discussing the tragedy, a local who wished to remain anonymous expressed amazement and said that it was “very awful that a son would take the life of his own mother.”
We have no idea what could have motivated him to commit such a horrible act.
Investigations are still ongoing, and the suspect is being held by police. When they are finished, charges will be brought against him in court.
