Mustapha demanded N2.8 million in exchange for Khalifa’s freedom, but tragically, before the money could be gathered and handed over, Mustafa killed his own cousin while under the influence of drugs or alcohol by strangling him to death.
After the event, Mustapha was apprehended by detectives of the Adamawa State Intelligence Department (SID) upon receiving a report from Harris Muhammed – who incidentally happens to be both the victim’s father and suspect’s uncle.
The culprit admitted to committing the offense, stating that an intoxicant was responsible for his behavior. The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje affirmed Mustapha’s detainment on Monday during a press conference.
