ASP Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, confirmed the arrest to the media on Monday.
According to Hassan, the father informed the police on March 29 that he had seen his son, Sani Nafiu, with a motorcycle that was suspected to be stolen from Abuja.
Acting swiftly upon receiving this information, the police operatives apprehended the suspect, who resided in Tijjani Kaya quarters in Giwa Local Government Area.
Further investigation into the matter revealed that the suspect had not only stolen the motorcycle but had also stabbed the victim, Mr. Shamsu Jamilu, aged 28, in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
The suspect took advantage of the victim’s unconscious state and made off with his motorcycle.
However, the police were able to recover the stolen motorcycle and successfully apprehended Nafiu.
The investigation is still ongoing, and once it is completed, the suspect will be charged and brought before the court for prosecution.
The Kaduna State Police Command is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its residents and will continue to take swift action against criminals.
