Police detain leader of kidnappers involved in attack on Kaduna Catholic church

The Kaduna State Police Command successfully captured a notorious kidnapper, Saidu Yakubu, also known as ‘Ismail’, who was the leader of a gang responsible for the attack on St. Raphael Catholic Church in Fadan Kamanta, Kafanchan Diocese, Kaduna State, on September 7, 2023, resulting in the death of a seminarian named Na’aman Danladi and the destruction of the parish house.

The arrest, which took place in collaboration with military personnel, was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, who mentioned that the suspect confessed to his participation in the criminal activities, including banditry, culpable homicide, and arson.

The swift response of the Kaduna State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ali Dabigi, was praised for the apprehension of Yakubu Saidu, highlighting the commitment of the police force to ensuring public safety and bringing criminals to justice.
