On November 19, 2023, at approximately 9 p.m., they were taken into custody on suspicion of abducting a 43-year-old woman who was being driven in her ML-350 Mercedes Benz along Shell Road in Sapele.

The victim was transported in her car until the fuel ran out, at which point they transferred her to their working tricycle.

On November 22, 2023, she was freed following the payment of a ransom of two million naira (#2.000,000).
