During a gay wedding ceremony in Delta State, the police reported that more than 100 suspects were detained.
The suspects will be paraded shortly, it stated in a tweet on Tuesday.
Recall that in January 2014, President Goodluck Jonathan signed into law a law in Nigeria that outlaws homosexuality and imposes a 14-year prison sentence on anyone found guilty of having sex with someone of the same sex.
After the police in Lagos, Nigeria, arrested 47 men in a hotel the year before, the law was used for the first time in December 2019. Following their arrest, the suspects were charged with openly showing affection for people of the same sex.
The judge granted bail to all of the accused, who all entered pleas of innocence. Due to the police not pursuing the case aggressively enough, it was ultimately dismissed.
