Police challenge Briton Andrew Wynne to reveal his location as part of an ongoing investigation, stating, “If you have nothing to hide, disclose your whereabouts.”

The authorities of the Nigeria Police Force have urged Andrew Wynne, a British national who is presently at large, to turn himself over and respond to questioning. Their assertion was that he should voluntarily come forward if his intentions are pure.

ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer refuted Wynne’s assertion that he was not given prior notice before being declared wanted.

According to Adejobi, the police had attempted to contact Wynne several times but he continuously declined cooperation, even following the raid of his workshop.

Adejobi stated that despite numerous attempts to reach Mr. Wynne and even after his workshop was raided, he never appeared in person and remained elusive. To gain clarity on the situation, they went to his bookshop for an explanation as it posed a genuine concern whether or not Mr. Wynne operated a legitimate business since there were several police visits made without any explanations given by him about these occurrences.

The police have announced that Wynne and Lucky Obiyan, his purported accomplice from Nigeria, are being sought for their alleged involvement in a scheme to topple the administration of President Bola Tinubu. Authorities have set a reward of N20 million for information leading to their capture.

On Monday, during his appearance on Politics Today with Channels Television, Wynne denied being aware of the fugitive label in response to the police declaration.

Journalists were addressed by ACP Adejobi, who stressed that despite numerous attempts to contact him, Wynne had not appeared. “Wynne has still yet to arrive at this point in time,” stated the officer. “We have scrutinized his private school and examined its personnel and associates closely for information about him. But he remains elusive- so where is Wynne? Why is he hiding if he truly believes that there’s no case against him?”, asked Adejobi with concern on his face.

Adejobi declared that charges had been pressed against Wynne and his accomplices for the offenses they committed. Additionally, he urged Wynne to display accountability as a leader and entrepreneur by presenting himself before the court.

Adejobi stated that due to the severity of the allegations against Wynne, police would not agree with his suggestion for a Zoom interrogation. Adejobi also questioned why it is challenging for Wynne, who has been traveling outside Nigeria frequently, to appear in person so they could ask him questions.

The police reiterated their earlier call for Wynne to surrender, and urged him to report to the authorities if he is a legitimate businessman in Nigeria. They hope that by doing so, any areas of uncertainty can be resolved.
